A Painful Read

It truly is so annoying when you're reading a book and the author was so clearly trying too hard. There's something about the strange use of adjectives and the painfully unnecessary detail. These combined make me shrivel up and die inside. Honestly repels me. 

I have too many friends who have tried to be authors and I've had to read their stories and give feed back. Which for the record and am very happy to do and actually really want to do, but after awhile the taste of a novice author becomes very recognisable. When I'm reading a real printed work, I do not want this taste. 

I was on the beach on Monday, and this taste hit me two pages in. Very disappointing.
